Volunteers, community leaders pick up nearly 800 pounds of trash in Fresno

A clean-up hosted by Beautify Fresno got almost 800 pounds of trash off the streets Saturday. The group focused on the area of West Shaw Avenue, between Highway 99 and Brawley Avenue. “There was no shortage of trash, unfortunately,” said Fresno Mayor Jerry Dyer. “But, incredible effort. A lot of people, a lot of enthusiasm. We actually had to cap the number of people that volunteered.” Nearly 100 people showed up to help out.
